Kadence strives to offer creative growth opportunites for artists of all levels - people wanting to try out a completely new medium, as well as those who want to hone existing skills and level up their artwork. This page will be expanding rapidly as we connect with our members and figure out what you all want to see!
spirit animal mask workshop
This class will be conducted in two parts: the mask making (guided by some super rad artist) will occur at Kadence Collective at 3pm, August 28.
The second portion will be a raku firing (a primitive Japanese style pit firing that is amazingly addictive and instantly gratifying! This part will take place at Art in the Pearl (Portland) Aug 30/31 and Sept 1. If that date doesnt work, first friday in September we can fire them here at Kadence as part of our First Friday Raku nights.
Armature based sculpture. 6 week course
Learn how to create a paper + tape + cardboard armature and build a clay sculpture to be high-fired in a gas reduction kiln. These pieces will be suitable for yard art and stand the test of time. Multiple skilled instructors will be on hand to guide you through this Friday, 6-8pm class with 3hrs open studio time per week included.
